Mat Dorward, Master Electrician

Freedom Electric Group is an electrical contracting business focusing on electrical installations and maintenance for new and existing commercial and industrial facilities in the Greater Lehigh Valley area.  

Our Owner and Leader, Mathew Dorward has 20 plus years experience in the electrical field.

We understand that it can be challenging to find a trustworthy electrical contractor capable of completing a project safely, free of defects, on time, and at a reasonable price. Freedom Electrical Group relies on our experience on large, complicated construction projects to effectively incorporate safety, planning, the adoption of lean construction mythology, and quality control. This, combined with a low overhead structure, allows us to sell our services at a reasonable price - providing value without sacrifice.

Mathew Dorward- Mat has over 20 years of experience in multiple aspects of the electrical field. Beginning his career in 2001 as an apprentice for a large electrical construction company in Denver, Colorado, he worked in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. After receiving certification from trade school, he took and passed the Colorado Journeyman test and began working as a Project Lead before being promoted to a Foreman position. As a Foreman, he focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. In 2007 he relocated to Pennsylvania and began working as a Field Supervisor and Superintendent from 2008 – 2016, successfully running multimillion-dollar projects and overseeing teams of up to 60 electricians. In 2016 he was promoted from the field to lead a team in the development of a newly formed design and prefabrication division. Mat is proud to be working as a Master Electrician and Owner/Operator of the Freedom Electrical Group.
